FBI documents show officials discussed to get Michael Flynn ’to lie’

Unsealed FBI notes show that during a discussion about the bureau’s probe of Michael Flynn, officials discussed whether to get the then National Security Adviser ’to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired’ during his White House interview. Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI during its probe of ties between the Trump campaign and Russia but has since claimed he was ’framed’.

"Framed" is not quite the right word. If true, then the proper term is "entrapment". That's where the government catches you committing a crime they made you do.

Bastards. Gen Flynn is a better human, and has done more for this country, than all of those evil assholes put together.

Um the way I read it, he was saying do we try to get him to tell us the truth or back him into a corner making him lie instead. This in no way means to put words in his mouth. How exactly is lieing to the FBI the FBI's fault?

Why would they think this helps Flynns case it looks even more shady than ever. Take this interaction for instance between Flynns attorney and Trumps. " In the call, Trump's attorney obliquely referenced Flynn's cooperation, asked for a "heads up" if he would implicate Trump, and said he should remember Trump's positive feelings toward him. "It wouldn't surprise me if you've gone on to make a deal with ... the government. ... (I)f ... there's information that implicates the President, then we've got a national security issue, ... so you know, .... we need some kind of heads up," Trump's personal attorney said to Flynn's attorney in the voicemail, Mueller wrote in his final report in March. At least one of Flynn's lawyers later became a witness on his own in the investigation, speaking to Mueller about the contact, the special counsel's report noted."
