Thousands of flamingos take over Mumbai amid coronavirus lockdown

Flamingos traditionally migrate to Mumbai and the surrounding regions during their feeding and breeding season, which lasts from about October to March, however due to the lockdown, the city residents are seeing an unusually high number of the birds in the last week of April as well. The Bombay Natural History Society estimates that there has been a 25% increase in the birds’ numbers this year.
