Cat-sized ’crazy beast’ changes view on first mammals

Scientists have described 66-million-year-old cat-sized mammal. This discovery challenges assumptions that mammals that lived amongst last dinosaurs were very small. This creature was found on Madagascar in 1999 and is the best preserved fossil from supercontinent that combined Africa, Madagascar and India. It has been given a name Adalatherium hui which translates to ’crazy beast’.
