FDA authorises emergency use of antiviral drug remdesivir for COVID-19 treatment

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday approved the emergency use of remdesivir, an experimental drug that is being tested in treating patients with Covid-19. It is the first drug shown to help fight the disease. President Trump made the announcement from the Oval Office. Gilead Sciences CEO Daniel O’Day said that the company was donating 1.5 million vials of the drug to help patients.

What do you know, a second drug therapy for this disease. Personally I prefer the hydroxychloroquine and z-pack since they are generic and cheap, but that is the purview of the uninsured.

Of course the FDA approves the drug that a pharmaceutical company can profit off of and fear mongers the unpatented cheap drug. What a joke of a “regulatory agency”.

I hope a vaccine is here soon. Otherwise, they are going to hook people on retrovirals for ever just like we see happened to people with HIV.
