Blue Bell’s ex-CEO charged in conspiracy to cover up listeria outbreak

Blue Bell Creameries has agreed to pay $19.35 million and plead guilty to charges that it shipped products contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, linked to a 2015 outbreak that resulted in three deaths and ten hospitalizations. Former CEO Paul Kruse was charged with seven felonies for allegedly concealing what the company knew about the contamination.
