San Francisco police chief bans ’Thin Blue Line’ Covid-19 masks use by cops

SFPD Chief Bill Scott has asked San Francisco cops not to wear ’Thin Blue Line’ flag Covid-19 masks which is perceived by some as disrespectful. The officers generated controversy when they were seen wearing masks at a May Day protest. The flag is identified as a pro-police ’Blue Lives Matter’ movement, which in turn has been seen as a response to the ’Black Lives Matter’ movement.

Why is BlackLivesMatter perceived as superior to BlueLivesMatter? One is a borderline terrorist organization and the other one is advocating for respect for police officers.

How dare cops advocate for their worth!

The thin blue line has been around alot longer than black lives matter and shows no disrespect. Quite the opposite.

Serving police cannot display any political messages, sorry. You can do whatever you like when you're off duty.

I agree but not for the same reason. Police are a shield of the people, not of the police themselves. While the thin blue line is nice respect and reminder of fallen officers, what living duty officers should be saying is "Your life matters" more than mine. Humanize the badge and all that, but remember the thin blue line is very thin indeed when it comes to not infringing on the rights of the people, when forced to comply with enforcing laws that are unconstitutional. Man that sounded Minarchist.

The “thin blue line” has been around for 3 decades. I’m so tired of wokey-wokes appropriating other cultures and then insisting on dominating.

Time for those police to move. San Francisco is obviously a liberal utopia, why would a utopia need police?

Ironic that the “May-day” protestors ( the strong back of the proletariat) were so easily offended... while they were busy being offensive.

Last time I checked there where white cops, black cops, spanish cops, asian cops so blue lives matters is very inclusive. They are way more important than some thieving, raping, gang banging thug.

As much as i understand the desire to wear it. Police should not be political, or engage in ideological showcasing. This Logically extends to officers wearing "pride" flags and shit that has happened in my dumbass country. The individual can believe what they want off the job, but there's a reason cops wear a UNIform...

Support thin blue line holding back the chaos in our society. Too many out there disguising their criminal behaviour as rights and freedom. Who else is protecting the lives of law abiding citizens?

This is a violation of their free speech and disrespectful to their service. All lives matter, especially those on the front lines who work to protect us despite the Coronavirus. They should be able to stand proud.

San Francisco is a Joke. I personally don't like the thin blue line flag, I think it desecrates the American flag. However San Francisco Would rather have Marxist Commies marching with a hammer and sickle down the streets then the police protecting themselves and expressing their beliefs.
