Oscar winner Taika Waititi will direct a Star Wars movie

Disney announced Monday that Taika Waititi (probably best known for directing ’Thor: Ragnarok’ ) will direct and co-write a Star Wars movie. Waititi won an Oscar this year for writing Jojo Rabbit, and he’ll collaborate on the Star Wars script with 1917 co-writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns. The movie does not yet have a release date — Waititi probably needs to get the next Thor sequel done first.

Okay here's the pitch. Episodes 7, 8 and 9 were a fever dream Han was having after getting pissed on Ewok wine, during the party on Endor. Then go read about Grand Admiral Thrawn and you have your antagonist. Epic space battles are to be had, war in the stars.

This should be interesting. I just hope that he respects the already established stylistic approach in both storytelling and filmmaking because there is a certain way one makes a Star Wars film.

Wow, even after Disney completely ruined and killed Star Wars they still won't let it die.

Kathleen kennedy and Bob Iger surely are trying to make us hate Star Wars. Disney, destroyer of IP's.
