Iran opens long banned drive-in movies amid COVID-19 pandemic

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, Iran has allowed drive-in movie theatre, otherwise banned since the revolution of 1979. The theaters had been decried for allowing too much privacy for unmarried couples. A drive-in theater now operates from a parking lot under Tehran’s iconic Milad tower. Workers spray disinfectants on cars that line up each night after buying tickets online.

Muslim majority countried: hey let's have religious leaders that basically tell our people not to do all this fun stuff or they'll burn in hell or whatever. Very authoritarian. (Expand) Leftists in America: Oh my God, did you hear about that drive in Easter service they had in Kentucky? I swear, religion is so backwards, hurhurr durr Catholic pedophiles haha gotcha.
