Doctors believe imprecise tests are reason for apparent COVID-19 reinfection

Many people have tested positive for COVID-19 well after they were thought to have recovered. This raised alarms that the virus might be capable of ’reactivating’ or infecting people more than once. But infectious disease experts now say both are unlikely. Rather, they say the positive tests are because the tests are false positives triggered by dead remnants of the virus RNA.
