Kraftwerk co-founder Florian Schneider dies aged 73

Florian Schneider-Esleben, a co-founder of German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, has died of cancer. He was 73. Schneider co-founded Kraftwerk alongside Ralf Hutter in 1970 after meeting as students in Dusseldorf. The German quartet set the template for synthesiser music in the 1970s and 80s with songs like Autobahn and The Model that influenced countless musicians who came after them.
