Iraq appoints new PM after months of protests and delay

Iraqi lawmakers have approved a new PM and govt after six months of vacant position as parties debated until the last minute over cabinet seats in backroom deals. The new PM, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, Iraq’s intelligence chief and a former journalist is acceptable to both the US & Iran. He will begin his term without a full cabinet, as several ministerial candidates were rejected.
