Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat advance as COVID-19 disrupts meat supply chains

CEO Ethan Brown at Beyond Meat said the LA based producer hoped to introduce product to more consumers this summer as beef supplies suffer amid the pandemic. The company share price rose 23% on news of a successful trial with McDonalds. CFO David Lee at Impossible Foods similarly confirmed their flagship Impossible Burger product will be available at 1,700 Kroger Co. stores, starting immediately.

Beyond Meat is fine. Had it a few years ago. Still not better than my medium-rare cheeseburger fresh off the grill in my backyard.

Those are actually tasty. Heck, I don't care if it's grounded up vegetables. If it tastes good, I want it.

I saw on the news something about a monkey on a bicycle trying to kidnap a child. Places and animals are staking claims in places where the lockdowns are so great that no one is on the streets. Coronavirus is killing millions. Meat is going bad and getting replaced by veggie burgers. Tell me this doesn't sound like a climate activist's dream.

Beyond Meat just make great.products in general. Not a big fan of impossible though. It's like the uncanny valley of food since it's so eerily similar to actual beef. No way that dedication to replication can't come with some potential negatives.

I'm not drastically opposed to a meat alternative short term. But honestly I wont ever be short on meat. Better than that feces burger they made a few years ago.

I don't know about Impossible, but my restaurant works with beyond meat and it's got more chemical ingredients than vegetables in there. Not good. If the restaurant was still open I'd provide a list for you guys.

I will not eat it.

I’d rather starve to death than eat the Frankenmeat.

As long as the products don't contain soy or any dangerous additives, I wouldn't mind trying.
