For 8 years, a hacker operated massive IoT botnet just to download Anime videos

According to a report by cyber-security firm Forcepoint, a botnet named Cereals, which silently hijacked D-Link NVRs (network video recorders) and NAS (network-attached storage) devices, used them to download anime videos. It operated since 2012 and at its peak amassed more than 10,000 bots.
