Coronavirus could ’smoulder’ in Africa for several years; kill upto 190,000: WHO

The Covid-19 pandemic could kill up to 190,000 people in Africa in the first year and could ’smoulder’ in the continent for several years, the WHO has warned in a study which covered only the 47 countries of the continent. The study warned that up to 44 million Africans could be infected by the virus in the next 12 months if it’s not contained, and small countries are particularly at risk.
