Apple starting to build some of its AirPods in Vietnam

Apple has begun shifting some of its AirPods production to Vietnam this quarter. Roughly 30%, or 3 million to 4 million, of the company’s classic AirPods will be produced in Vietnam rather than China. The move is aimed at diversifying Apple’s supply chain.

It's a good first step.. But it's not a solution. I think a win for everyone would be to allow any manufacturer to begin to repatriate overseas money with significant reduction in taxes and penalties to the USA with the stipulation that a significant portion goes towards tooling up manufacturing here. Obviously there are a ton of details to work out, but conceptually I think this is the direction to go.
