Little Richard, rock music legend, dies of cancer

Little Richard, a trailblazer and legend in the music industry, died on Saturday, May 9th. He was 87. His lawyer said that bone cancer was the cause of death. Famous for his flair, style, and energy, Little Richard first became famous in 1956 with ’Tutti Frutti,’ a hit that would propel him into a career spanning more than half a century. He was a pioneer in creation of rock ’n’ roll.

A great loss. He was the first Black musician to inspire whites to cross the color barrier in droves. Truly a great figure in music. He was singing all the way back in the late 40's.
