Russia is examining the safety of a ventilator type sent to the US, after 6 people died in 2 hospital fires reported to have started by short-circuits in ventilators. ’Preliminary indications are that it was overloaded and caught fire,’ Interfax reported of 1 incident. The model in question, the Aventa-M, was among those sent to the US from Russia. It is made by a firm that is under US sanctions.
