The former Sinn Fein leader, Gerry Adams has urged that the legality of every internment during the Troubles is needed to be scrutinized. The statement has been given out by Adams after the Supreme Court quashed his convictions for escaping from the Maze Prison.

Yes, the legality of every action by the British government must be held to account. But not the legality of every action by the murderers and terrorists. No, they got "comfort letters" saying they were off the hook. But forgiveness for past transgressions goes but one way and they'll still try and prosecute soldiers who were teenagers at the time for stuff they did 50 years ago, regardless of how many times courts have found them innocent.
