France’s bookstores fight for survival after lockdown

Neighborhood bookstores in France are struggling to survive following an eight-week-long hiatus that has weighed on profit margins. France’s bookstores were allowed to reopen on Monday for the first time since March 17. Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, last week, acknowledged the issues the stores face, saying ’We could have a string of bankrupt bookstores. That’s exactly what we want to avoid’.
