CNN to feature Greta Thunberg in coronavirus town hall

CNN announced Wednesday it will feature teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg in its next town hall program set for Thursday at 8 pm on the cable channel. The 17-year-old Swedish girl will join hosts Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta for ’Coronavirus Facts and Fears,’ which also includes former CDC director Richard Besser and former Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

Why? What on Earth does she have to add to any conversation on the Coronavirus? I hope they aren't going to argue that she had it so that makes her an expert.

Grand Prophetess Greta's words of wisdom for her flock! Wait, this is about a pandemic, not climate change? What the hell does she have to say about a global pandemic that is relevant to anyone??

Wait, i thought we we only supposed to listen to (select) experts. Since when did she become an medical expert? Hell, when did she become a climate scientist?

Is this TV click-bait? I'm honestly curious what she's supposed to contribute, though. My guess is one of two themes: 1. Humans abused the planet with climate change, so nature struck back. 2. Look at how clear the skies are without pollution, and how animals are returning, so the lockdown should continue. But, maybe she's there to talk about her experience with the virus. (Was it ever confirmed if she even had it, or was it a self-certified diagnosis?) That would make the most sense, but who knows with news networks anymore.

So if you strike for Covid on Monday and the environment on Friday that means you get a four day weekend every week. The math just adds up.

I really hope she don't start using drugs when she grow up. Child actors has often a tragic history of drugs and mental illness when they reach older age...

The fact that CNN is better than the Babylon Bee and The Onion at this point is just depressing

Stick to one topic. People without high school degrees are hardly experts on climate change, much less climate change and pandemics. Go back to school, you angry, small person.

its the script of a parody from the onion or Babylon bee. No one will take it seriously. Why is a troubled foreign teenager with angst issues some authority on the virus in America? This is stellar levels of tardation.

Of course it'll be about how great the virus has been for "muh trees" and that this is proof that socialism is the answer. (The kind of socialism where no one works.)

Imagine working your butt off for years to receive your doctorate and to become a leading expert in your field (climatology or virology), or spending your entire 20's and early 30s working hard to become a leading doctor of medicine, only for the world to listen to a teenager with minimal formal education. She knows just as much about the climate and viruses as a sick person does about epidemiology after typing their symptoms into WebMD.
