Wisconsin Supreme Court blocks governor’s ’safer at home’ extension orders

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wed blocked Governor Evers’ extended ’safer at home’ orders, which was to expire on 26th May. It is the first time a state supreme court has struck down emergency orders issued by a governor due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The ruling of 4-3, was on back of the court’s view that the orders should have been issued as a rule, which would be backed by legislation changes.
