New Zealand reopens after 51 days of lockdown

New Zealand welcomed the end its 51-day Covid-19 lockdown at midnight on Wed queuing up on the streets to get their hair cut. Businesses including salons, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping malls were reopened after the country downgraded to ’level 2’ of its alert system. All businesses except bars reopened with some social distancing and PPE measures in place.
