Japanese space probe snaps close-up images of asteroid’s surface

Japanese space agency JAXA’s Hayabusa-2 asteroid probe to the Ryugu asteroid has snatched samples of the asteroid material and is now bringing them home for study. The spacecraft has also snapped some photos of Ryugu’s surface while it was in orbit and during its touchdown attempts. Scientists are examining the photos in the hopes of unraveling the asteroid’s secrets.
