Senate passes FISA renewal bill, sends it back to the House

The US Senate comfortably approved a 2-1/2-year extension of parts of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) with bipartisan support Thursday, renewing some of its provisions but coupling that with some reforms to deal with concerns about surveillance abuse.The measure must be approved, however, by the House of Rep. before it can be sent to the White House for President Trump’s approval.
