Trump threatens to ’cut off’ ties with China, says in no mood for talks with Xi

Signalling a further deterioration of relationship with China, Trump said that he has no interest in speaking to Xi Jinping, and suggested that he could even cut ties with the country. In an interview with Fox, Trump said he was disappointed with China’s failure to contain the virus and that the pandemic had cast a pall over his trade deal with Beijing. ’They should have never let this happen.’

Keep this up! With more business uncertainty, more businesses will leave out of China. The longer this is held up over them, the more businesses will leave China.

Good idea we can take all that manufacturing back and cut off the legs of a incompetent communist regime

Not only that, but also have the US’ debt to China canceled as compensation for failing to get COVID-19 under control in their country and having it spread to us and the rest of the world.

His rhetoric would be a bit more effective if he hadn't spent the entire rest of his term alienating US allies and undermining the foundations of US international influence. In the battle between US and Chinese influence the Europeans and much of the rest of the world may well choose not to back the US at this point.

Hasn't any American learned - Trump has to have someone to blame. He accepts responsibility for nothing and never will. He was raised this way. He's nothing more than a spoiled brat and for some reason the whole GOP is afraid to stand up to him, or are they all that stupid?

China's history has always been central planning. They always have these epochs of growing and centralising and more growing, followed by collapsing due to inherent top heavy governance losing control. They go through this once every 3 hundred years or so. The current epoch of China growing is now over and collapse is under way. Big history in the making, and the right president is in the office to catalyze the downfall of this broken down system of government that they never learn they need to change.

Usa shouldn't have let 86000 people died in the nation with the worlds best health system and when they knew about it from January 11,2020 . Blaming a weak nation for its failure is not fair enough
