House passes $3 trillion coronavirus aid bill

The House of Representatives on Friday passed a $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill. The bill is aimed at salving the heavy human and economic toll of the coronavirus pandemic. The bill passed mostly along party lines in a 208-199 vote. Unlike previous bills, this wasn’t negotiated with Republicans. Senate Majority Leader McConnell said he sees no ’urgency’ to take up the legislation.

Alternate headline: House Democrats trot out unrealistic grab bag of payouts disguised as a stimulus bill to virtue signal to the left. < ------ Ya, seems a little long to me too.

Waste of time and makes me feel bad for people that still think the House Dems are working for the people that elected them.

Not to mention that it has all kinds of left leaning provisions that have nothing to do with Covid, such as mandating that states allow undocumented voters to "self certify" that the are eligible, killing voter ID laws.

I'm honestly wary about this simply because of the bias I've gained from when they we're try to draft and pass the first corona stimulus. Namely how the Senate stayed during a scheduled vacation to draft something that seemed to focus on what Americans needed. Then the house of Reps. reconvened and suddenly it seemed like partisan issues/wish list delayed the entire process. So now I have a much higher opinion of the Senate then the house of Reps. TLDR: The drama from the first round makes me doubt the house of Reps. far more then the Senate. P.S. - yes I'm aware that's just bias I've rescently developed. I'm trying to be conscious of it while wondering if anyone else feels this way.

Dumb bill but Republicans should vote yes, then point to Democrats when it backfires.

I say no more handouts. Give the governors a choice, reopen or face economic devestation. That will put an end to their whole "you can't make us do anything" attitude real quick.
