Trump unveils official Space Force flag

President Trump on Friday unveiled the official flag to be used by the Space Force, the newest branch of the military. Speaking on the occasion, Trump said, ’Space is going to be the future, both in terms of defense and offense and so many other things’, while proclaiming the US ’the leader in space’. The flag is dark blue with a delta wing, an elliptical orbit and three large stars.

If I was still a sci-fi obsessed teen I would be doing anything I could to join the Space Force. Hell yeah!

I'm glad the space force is getting built up. While it won't have major prominence for maybe a couple more decades, having it built up now will be good in the long run.

Such a as waste of money! While education sucks and healthcare is a sham. Prorities are clear.

About time that the US made this real. Far far too much critical infrastructure in space that we definitely need to protect.

Neil Degrasse Tyson and other scientists think Space Force is a good idea. Therefore, I'm all for it!

The actual flag breaks so many general rules of Vexilology and really is just a Symbol on a bedsheet. I’m a proponent for all the United States military flags to be changed personally. The Roman numerals depicting “2019” is a huge violator and there shouldn’t be any text. The symbolism itself should make the flag recognizable. This all applies to the other U.S. military flags as well

It'll most definitely be the future in resource extraction.

For those who want to claim the Space Force copied the Starfleet Command insignia from Star Trek, it absolutely does not. What the Space Force insignia DOES use as inspiration is the Air Force Space Command insignia, which has been in use since 1961, and elements of the insignia (such as the Delta symbol) having been in use since 1942 (by the Army Air Corps). Meanwhile, Star Trek: TOS orginally aired in 1966 and the Starfleet Command insignia didn't appear in the show until season 4 of Deep Space 9 in 1995. Star Trek used an Air Force insignia that was decades old as inspiration for their show (which isn't a bad thing). However, saying they came up with it and the US military copied them is asinine to say the least.

I am genuinely so happy for the blatant Star Trek plagiarism. If it was missing I’d be so disappointed.

Space Force will come in handy when aliens are discovered, aliens who want to destroy earth’s inhabitants. Trump could always make a deal with them as he is the great deal maker? He could also impose tariffs on aliens and make them pay the tarriffs, or build a space wall to keep the aliens out Sounds like another marketing fail like Trump university Trump steaks Trump everything else Nice use of taxpayer money when 80,000+ have died from a virus he said would go away in April with the heat, to be fair he didn’t say which April so there is still time.
