Brazil now has 4th most confirmed COVID-19 cases, after U.S., Russia and U.K.

Brazil registered 14,919 new confirmed cases in 24 hours becoming the fourth biggest zone for the spread of COVID-19. Brazil overtook Spain and Italy in number of confirmed cases. Brazil’s vice president, Hamilton Mourao was tested for the virus on Saturday after being near a public servant who tested positive. He was then advised to stay in isolation. The US, Russia and UK have the most cases.

More worrisome than total numbers is the fast pace at which cases are growing there. Per capita they still have less cases than many other but it is growing fast! Similar to US but even more extreme they have a president who doesn’t care about some people dying, a severe lack of testing, a noticeable amount of people protesting and disobeying lockdown orders etc. Combine with much more poor people and a lot of corruption and you can see why it is getting out of hand there...

Spain: 47 million people. Italy: 60-something million people. Brazil: 211 million people. Total number of cases is useless and misleading information.
