State fines salon $14K after reopening against virus order

A hair salon in Salem has been fined $14,000 for reopening, despite ongoing measures of a lockdown. The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OSHA) is fining salon owner and stylist Lindsey Graham while requiring that she and her independently contracted stylists close until approved to reopen. The salon reopened May 5 in defiance of Gov. Kate Brown’s order.

Federal government mostly bungles program to "loan" money to keep small businesses afloat. State government punishes same businesses for trying to not go out of business. Seems like the acronym that applies here is SNAFU.

Oregon must love paying people for abusing their civil rights. What a waste of tax payer money. Now she can sue for those damages in addition to any income that may have been lost for closing down in the first place. It's likely she could back date that to the moment of first lockdown. Easy money for her I guess.
