Israel swears in new govt as Netanyahu pledges annexation push

Israel has sworn in a unity government led by PM Benjamin Netanyahu in a power sharing deal with his former rival Benny Gantz, ending a 500-day political deadlock. Netanyahu will serve for another 18 months and then hand over to Gantz. The 2 politicians have agreed to a plan to annex part of the occupied West Bank as early as 1 July. Palestinian leaders have rejected the legitimacy of the move.
