New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern eyes 4-day workweek to help post-pandemic economy

New Zealand PM has suggested that a 4-day workweek could help revitalize the country’s economy in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. Jacinda Ardern said flexible working options and more public holidays are possibilities to encourage domestic tourism. ’The question for me is, how do we encourage Kiwis to … get out and about, and visit some of the amazing places that we have,’ she asked.

Work less to help the economy, hmm. Given the amount that her government just borrowed and the people chomping at the bit to get back to work seams counter productive.

I have no idea
I have no idea 3 days

I have worked 3-12.5s 4-10s and 5-8s. They were all good and bad in there own way. 8 hr days ar nice because it is easier to fill with work (little dependent on the job) but the short weekends except holidays can some times not be enough time. 10hr is nice because if you alternate monday fridays you get a four day weekend every other weekend or constant 3 day weekends and while I find the days drag a little it isn't terrible. And 12s gives you a long weekend to work with every week but you will probably end up eating every meal at work on those days and the day supreme drag after the 10 hr point. TLDR I think 10-4s is the best balance of days off and not letting the work day drag to much.
