Italian woman wins $1.1 million Picasso in charity draw

An Italian accountant whose son bought her a raffle ticket as a Christmas present won a Picasso painting valued at €1m in a charity draw in Paris Wednesday. The draw was to raise funds for the poverty-fighting agency CARE to finance projects improving access to water for villagers in Morocco, Cameroon and Madagascar. €5.1m was raised for the charity by selling 51,000 raffle tickets at €100 each.
