US could have saved thousands of lives if lockdown started earlier, study finds

About 36,000 Covid-19 deaths in the US could have been avoided if social distancing were implemented just 1 week earlier, new data shows. Had action been taken 2 weeks earlier, 83% of the nation’s deaths would have been avoided, researchers at Columbia University estimate. The findings are based on modeling that gauges how reduced contact between people from mid-March slowed virus transmission.

And who was calling the president’s attempts to slow the spread as early as January “racist” and “xenophobic”?

All fake news sources..... also more stories have been coming out that the lock downs are making it worse given how well FL is doing that didnt lock down to how bad all these blue authoritarians did I think this is obviously fake news pushing selective trash and a narrative not facts but that is typical of left wing and silicon valley trash this app included

Unfortunately they neglected to point out that states without lockdowns did not perform worse than states that did. Such a thorough study 🤦🏽‍♂️

We should've just locked down the economy last summer then this whole thing could've been avoided!

On January 30th WHO only called COVID 19 a public health concern. On January 30 the US cut travel to China. A publically criticized move by the WHO, China, Europe and the Democratic party. At this point there is only one case in the US in WA state. Finally after a spike in cases in Iran, Spain, France and Italy the WHO declared COVID 19 a pandemic on March 11 2020. On the same day the US cuts travel to Europe. The US is heavily criticized by European leaders and Democrat leaders for the travel ban saying COVID fears are irresponsible racist and irrational. On March 13 the same day the European travel ban takes place the United States declares a national emergency.

Nice study, would be helpful. Too bad everyone already made up their minds who to blame based on their preconceived views.
