Active shooter ’neutralized’ at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas

A US Navy air base in Corpus Christi, Texas was restricted for movement after an active shooter incident at the facility was reported at 6.15am. As soon as the alarm was raised, the shooter was ’neutralized.’ The Naval Criminal Investigative Service and local law enforcement responded immediately, while airbase officials warned everyone near north gate of the base to move out and reach to safety.

How to commit suicide in Texas: go anywhere that has more than 2 people nearby and start acting crazy while waving a gun around.

This is why I feel military bases should allow people to carry a sidearm regardless of role. Security with long guns is fine on top of this but it would mean a shooter would be neutralised after they drew, rather than people running and hiding waiting for a quick response force from security. It's almost like an area denial strategy where those with malicious intent know they won't survive long enough to do any real damage. And when you have people who are trained and handle weapons professionally, the risk of accidental discharge, etc is low. The counter to this is that stupid loves guns, such as the two (? British) officers who had a duel on a pool (not sure but think they were on rafts) with flare guns, one of which was discharged, missing the target and flying into the adjacent building...

So one member of the security force was injured and will be released today. Meanwhile 'neutralized' probably means he got shot in the face. Speaking of faces, I'm totally speculating that it wasn't a white guy? Seems like when that happens their name and picture is everywhere, but when it's anyone else the media turns into a Stop Snitchin' video.

I love the term 'neutralised'. It's a final f**k you mark of disrespect to the prick that was neutralised.
