Another 2.4 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week

More than 2.4 million people applied for US unemployment benefits last week, in the latest wave of layoffs from the outbreak even as the economy is beginning to reopen. In total, 38.6 million people have filed for unemployment aid since mid-March. The number of weekly applications has slowed for seven straight weeks from a record 6.87 million claims for the week of March 28.

A lady at work told me her son filed for unemployment, despite him making 6 figures anually in his hotel business, he has filed and is receiving $600 a week because his hotel is closed. Don't imagine that all these claims are people on hard times, but people who want free money. I at least will not lean on my own and everyone else's taxes to pad my pockets. I work for a living, Covid or not.
