Chechen leader in Moscow hospital with suspected COVID-19

Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia’s southern region of Chechnya, is suspected of having contracted COVID-19. The TASS news agency said the condition of Kadyrov, 43, was stable, but provided no further details. Chechen authorities have not confirmed or denied the reports. Kadyrov, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, became head of Chechnya in 2007 in the aftermath of two wars.
