University of California to drop SAT, ACT test requirements

The University of California Thursday voted to phase out the SAT and ACT as requirements to apply to its system of 10 schools. The UC’s governing body voted 23-0 to approve a proposal by UC President Janet Napolitano that phases the tests out over 5 years, at which point the UC aims to have developed its own test. Under the plan, the tests will be optional for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 years.

Apparently they don't care how stupid their students are they just want more minds to brainwash

I am not a fan of standardized testing, but the reasoning that such tests are problematic due to them being unfair for 'minority and disadvantaged' students is utter nonsense.
