’Once-in-a-decade’ storm lashes Australia’s west coast

Heavy rainfall and destructive winds have caused widespread damage in Western Australia, in what has been described as a ’once-in-a-decade’ storm. At least 50,000 homes and businesses have been left without power as the storm brought wind gusts of more than 60 miles per hour. The storm is a result of a system from Cyclone Mangga in the southern Indian Ocean interacting with a cold front.
