The NYT, in an editorial on the Memorial Day weekend, asked: ’Why Does the US Military Celebrate White Supremacy?’The editorial made the argument of renaming military bases after ’American heroes, not racist traitors.’Pentagon responded to the piece tweeting: ’...the NYT has more than a million possible stories of the ultimate sacrifice by American patriots that they could tell. "Southern Democrats enacted Jim Crow and named a few military bases after Confederate generals; therefore, the US military is a white supremacist organization for not renaming them in the last 100 years." That about cover it?
