Formula E racer disqualified for using ringer in esports race

A Formula E driver has been disqualified and ordered to pay £8,900 to charity for getting a professional gamer to compete under his name in an official esports race. Organizers also took away all points won to date by 27-year-old Daniel Abt in the Race at Home Challenge series. Rivals became suspicious after Abt qualified in second place and went on to take third in the Formula E Race.
