Twitter adds fact-check warnings to Trump tweets

Twitter has flagged some of President Trump’s tweets with a fact-check warning. The notification, which displays a blue exclamation mark underneath tweets, prompts readers to ’get the facts about mail-in ballots’ and directs them to a page with news articles and information from fact checkers. Trump’s tweet called mail-in ballots ’fraudulent’ and predicted that ’mail boxes will be robbed’.

Whenever these sites “fact check” something it’s always wrong. They just hate hearing the pesky truth.

Twitter officially demonstrates that they are a publisher. Remarkably spouting mis-information about vote fraud. No voter fraud ever ... Nope ... none ... Legal documents be damned, news articles on documented voter fraud ... Not important.

Really? Now, who factchecks the fckchecker? These social media giants are trying to run the world. Somebody stop them before they hand us over to China without a fight. I say let's hire the Hong Kong people to replace Chinese-sponsored Harvard and educate and train us to fight the creeping shadow of China.

Trump has been channeling misleading/false claims (aka Fake News) his entire presidency. The Washington Post claims 18,000 false or misleading claims in 1,170 days of office. This was long overdue in my opinion; I think the deciding factor on Twitters part is that it can definitely affect the election. In the 2016 election, with all the inlegitimate elections claims came down to misinformation that was propagated through Social Media Networks like Facebook and Twitter. Resulting in big fines. This is actually a business risk mitigation. If twitter were to really show bias, it would have applied these labels long ago.

Took them this long? It would take them decades to retroactively review/flag all his previous wacky rants.

Thank god this is getting ridiculous. The president of the United States digging up 19 year old conspiracies and accusing someone of murder all because he doesnt like Joe's coverage of him. 🤦‍♂️ What a psychopath.

Twitter along with Facebook has been weaponized by our technocratic overlords to support the status quo and it’s agenda of total enslavement. These platforms and others that have adopted similar policies are slowly forcing their users to abandon them for more truly liberal and enlightened platforms. Stop using Twitter and FB and tell everyone you know to do the same. They are garbage of the worst sort and must be shunned for their reprehensible actions censoring their users. It is truly disappointing what people will gladly tolerate and accept, even demand - just to feel safe. Let people decide for themselves. Don’t we call that freedom? It used to be a very popular idea. Now we are all just free to do what we are told.

Trumpists don't want the truth. They ignore Trump's looooooooooooong (and growing) list of lies. Crazy.

Mail in voter forms are definitely open to abuse. Here in Australia we had an (supposedly non-binding sensus) which became a law through mail in. And we had many reports of thefts of other people's ballots as well as numerous reports of whole apartment blocks ballots being found in dumpsters. So in my opinion mail in votes are too exposed to the risk of vote munipulation and cannot be used for an election.

The facts on mall in voting have yet to be established so I am curious how anyone could fact check claims made in relation to that topic.

This is importent. Trump is setting the stage in case he loses. There needs to be fact checkers so he can't warp reality to fit what he wants.

Pretty sad that we can't even trust fact checkers to be objective. There are so many instances of WaPo and NYT "fact checking" Trump by linking to literal opinion articles.

Trump should leave Twitter and go to minds or something. The blue check marks would loss it
