Google deletes millions of negative TikTok reviews

Google deleted millions of negative TikTok reviews from its Play store. This came after the app’s rating fell from 4.5 to 1.2 stars overnight. The platform was inundated with one-star reviews after a user posted a spoof video of an acid attack. The user has since apologized, and TikTok deleted copies of his clip. Google determined that critics had set up fake accounts to amplify their protests.

Well duh Google curates its play list. New York Times hand picks its own best sellers. YouTube comments are algorithmically deleted. It's like the tourist part of China, a potemkin village.

TikTok has been banned by multiple U.S. agencies due to national security concerns. Why are millions of Americans allowing a potentially dangerous app, from a hostile country that is known to use cyberwarfare, on their phones?

This is actually fair, people made lots of spam accounts to influence a rating. As long as you use real accounts, it should be fine.

I don't really get the review bombing. It's not the app's fault if people do shitty things with it. To me, it seems like Indian TikTok users are asking for censorship which is inconceivable to me as an American.
