American Airlines plans 30% reduction of management, administrative staff

American Airlines is planning to cut 30% of its management and support staff, a reduction of about 5,000 jobs, because of the toll is taking on the business. American, with over 100,000 employees, will offer voluntary options before implementing involuntary reductions, a letter to employees said. American has said it expects to fly roughly 100 fewer aircraft in 2021.
