Australian jailed in Bulgaria in 2009 free to return home

Jock Palfreeman, an Australian who was convicted for murder and attempted murder in Bulgaria in 2007 has been set free to go back home. He stabbed two Bulgarians in 2007 and was given a sentence of 20 years. He was jailed in 2009 and has completed 11 years of his sentence.

It should be noted, he was tried and convicted of pre meditated murder without provocation, Palfreeman has always professed his innocence, saying he came to the defence of a Roma Gypsy man who was under attack from football hooligans. The victims father was a influential former member of the Bulgarian government. Palfreeman believes if he attempts to leave the country he will be arrested.
