Lassen County in California slows down reopening plan after new COVID-19 cases

Lassen County became the first in California to backpedal on its reopening. A home to 30,000 people, the rural county reported 5 coronavirus cases, traced to a resident who had traveled outside the county. This exceeds the state-set limit of 3 cases per 10,000 within 2 weeks, triggering revocation of attestation that it can safely reopen. Some businesses had to shut down after rehiring staff.
