A SpaceX launch vehicle prototype burst into flames during a test at a Texas launchpad on Friday — a day before the company hopes to send two NASA astronauts into space on another craft in Florida. The vehicle erupted after a trial known as a static fire test, which initially appeared successful. Minutes after the attempt, the vehicle burst into flames. It is unclear what caused the incident.
SN4 is dead. Long live SN5 (which has already been built and SN6 is under construction).
Turns out rocket science is actually quite difficult.
Better to explode the day before than the day after, eh?
Well better in a test than with the Astronauts inside... dodged a bullet.
It’ll be fine... right?
I smell a rat
Sabotage!
They can't even build a ship that doesn't burst into flames? It's not rocket science... oh wait.
So the Crew Dragon should be taking off today, while the Starliner caught fire in a test designed to try and get it to catch fire... I don’t see how this is a bad thing other than SpaceX continuing to develop the Starliner...
