Chicago mayor slams Trump over ’looting’ tweet

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot, in reply to President Trump’s tweet about protests, said she had a message for Trump, ’It starts with ’f’ and ends with ’you’’. ’Watching that poor man beg for his life and for the ability to breathe and then watching the life leave him there in the streets I felt angry’, Lightfoot said responding to the killing. She added that Trump’s comment was ’profoundly dangerous’.

If she's bitching about the stories of the extra looters that came up from Chicago for some 'fun', well tough lady. It's well known and was expected. Thanks for nothing.

Coming from someone who can't control their own riots and contributes an outsized proportion, both relative and absolute, in our homicide rates I'd say she has no room to speak on the matter.

Setting fires, looting, harming the livelihood of others and endangering the lives of innocent people is not grieving or at all helpful. What happened was wrong and will be addressed. Calm the fuck down.

Chicago is a joke. Its mayor needs to lay low and hide. Not pop up and start speaking, lest the rest of the country all laugh and laugh and laugh at the irony of it all.

So many republican bootlickers trying to defend Trumps comment 🤡 capital punishment for theft and property damage is absurd.

Obama called looters thugs, too. Loretta Lynch has some nice words regarding the challenges facing police, too, in this revealing article.

Well it’s not like trump doesn’t enjoy a little slander himself.

She should really look in the mirror. Her city is still dangerous and looting does happen. Its ridiculous she thinks otherwise.

I applaud her for speaking up. The bigger question is what is wrong with the people who are vandalizing and looting stores? Where are there morals and values? Were they never taught right from wrong? If the police step in to put a stop to it and someone gets hurt, the police will be blamed, not the looters as they brought on the results by their actions. If you want law and order you have to be part of the solution - respecting someone else's property and possessions. We all need to take responsibility for our actions as they do have consequences, good or bad.
