Israeli police fatally shoots autistic Palestinian man

Israeli police officers have shot dead Palestinian Iyad Halak, 32, whom they suspected was carrying a weapon in Jerusalem’s Old City. It was later found that the man was unarmed. The officers had chased and shot the man after he refused to obey orders to stop. Halak suffered from autism and was on his way to a special needs school. Officers involved in the incident are reportedly in custody.

Jeez.. I fully support the police and think they get a bad rap but they really need to get their shit together. These police work for the communities they’re patrolling, not the other way around. And I can’t for the life of me figure out how an unarmed autistic kid gets shot. C’mon people, seriously, stop the nonsense.

Who is telling the truth here? Israel says the farmers were showing aggressive moves with farming tools and Palestanians say the soldiers shot the autistic man while he was running away. The truth will come out sooner or later.
