National security adviser denies ’systemic racism’ in US police forces

White House National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien denied there is a ’systemic racism’ in the US police forces arguing instead that ’there are a few bad apples out there, whether they’re racist or ill-trained or just vicious.’I think 99.9% of our law enforcement officers are great Americans,’ O’Brien said on CNN’s ’State of the Union,’ adding that ’many’ are African American, Hispanic and Asian.

There isn't. If there were then the officers couldn't be charged with anything. See when something is systemic, they don't need to hide it because they have nothing to fear. That's how the system is and they're doing nothing wrong in that system. For example, the "orange man bad" narrative is systemic in the media. No one pretends to like the president but subtly change people's minds. They are blatant about their dislike. Another example, censorship is systemic in China. They don't pretend otherwise, they outright ban certain websites from being accessed by their people.

in all seriousness, it's very likely that some police precinct are better then others, and that some precinct are outright terrible. If we end up punishing a police precinct that has a good report with it's minority community, all because of what a bad precinct did, it could become counter productive.

He is likely right, though there is a commonly accepted narrative that will push back pretty hard against that reasoning.

There is no longer systematic racism in the United States. There are racists sure but they are no longer accepted or legally supported in thus country. Racism in this country now mostly exists among people who claim to fight it and a few older nutjobs.

Dude. I'm about as white as you can get without burning in the sun to badly, and I can plainly see cops are just as racist as any other slice of the population, if not worse.
