Twitter changes logo to black in protest of George Floyd’s death

Twitter has changed the color of its display picture to black to represent its support for the protest raging across the world in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The social media giant has also changed its bio which now says, #BlackLivesMatter. Twitter’s stance reflects the sentiment on social media where users are outraging over the death condemning it by using the hashtag #blacklivesmatter.

I think Twitter is has decided which hill to die on. Makes sense given how there the ones who pissed of Trump enough to make an executive order. They're the least likely to win any sort of appeal case if that excutor order stands.

What is the point of the protest at this stage? Man breaks law, man arrested for said breech, man charged with murder - due process ongoing. Does Twitter somehow believe there is a wider issue that requires more US infrastructure to burn, more people to receive a beating and more money to be wasted?

Black lives only seem to matter when a white guy is involved. Screw all of the black people killed at the hands of other black people in cities like Detroit and Chicago, right?

Can the collective sane portion of the US say all at once "Yeah we know, he is in jail". We dog need to virtue signaling to kingdom.

I agree with the sentiment but the "protests" are riots using any excuse they can find to loot and burn, don't pretend this is about George or justice, it's about the 50 inch TV you fancied. What annoys me the most is I see people on the news saying "they won't listen to us so we have to be violent", pick up a history book would you. Do you think the civil rights act would've passed if MLK was a violent thug smashing up cars and looting during his March on DC ?

Remember when a black guy was beating elderly patients in an NYC nursing home and these platforms blocked the videos and links to them? No black flag for them...

Ive been using Twitter for music promotion and networking for a few months. This event has completely turned twitter into a ball of hate for different opinions. It's crazy how any slight variation in opinion causes a complete breakdown in communication....nuts

The "Deep State", which includes the government bureaucracy, Democratic Party, globalist wing of the GOP, media, public employee unions, and global corporations... They all have one common objective for 2020. "Get rid of Donald Trump". I'm one of the original "Never Trumpers". But watching the hysteria of the left has been revealing. While I have serious problems with Trump, he is in the right place at the right time and we cannot let the globalists, socialists, and America haters prevail. But they are using every dirty trick they've got, and it's showing. A criminal gets killed by a bad cop and it's whipped into a frenzy by the DS actors. This is not their first nor last effort. It's going to keep on coming like a broken sewer line. If Trump wins, they'll go into the streets and burn us down. Just watch.

George Floyd's murder at the hands of a cop is a tragedy, but over 100,000 Americans have died of the coronavirus, 80,000 Americans died of the regular flu during the winter of 2017-2018, and over 190 people have been murdered in Chicago this year. I'm just wondering why this is the one time that Twitter needs to change their logo.

I'm ok with that. Protesting is ok. Fuck the rioters and looters.

The virtue signaling by this multi billion dollar company is beyond belief. Twitter is beyond pathetic and I can't wait for it to be designated as a publisher.
